We at Crescent Avenue Christian School
feel it is a privilege to have your child in our school. We look
forward to working with your child and are excited about the good
things to be learned this year.
The History of the School
Crescent Avenue Christian School began in 1957 as a ministry of the
local Nazarene Church. The first buildings constructed on the
present site were the classrooms, designed to provide an atmosphere of
learning. Since then, additions have been made to accommodate
expanding church and school needs as well as increased school
enrollment. Operation of the school is under the general
supervision of the church.
Our Purpose and Objectives
The purpose of Crescent Avenue Christian School is to provide a
Christ-centered education. The school and the church will
cooperate with the home in helping parents fulfill Proverbs 22:6,
"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will
not depart from it."
The school attempts to glorify God by training the whole person
(mentally, physically, socially and spiritually) in a Christian
atmosphere that gives emphasis to the Bible, which is the Word of God.
The school maintains the highest possible academic and moral standards
and seeks to prepare students for future learning experiences for
developing self-discipline and for the acquiring of positive values
toward life.
Our Goal
1. To lead each child to a personal knowledge of Jesus Christ as
Lord and Savior.
2. To develop in each child self-esteem and self-acceptance.
3. To help develop a sense of responsibility and an attitude of
honor and service to God.
4. To help the child develop the feeling of competence and
self-satisfaction in mastering new skills.
5. To protect the health and safety of the child and help him or
her develop physically, socially, emotionally and academically.
6. To provide a safe environment that will encourage learning
and a sense of security.
7. To teach Christ-like morals and character values.
School
Faculty
The teachers at Crescent Avenue Christian School are well qualified
academically and posses a personal knowledge of Jesus Christ as Savior
and Lord of their lives. They are aware of the specific call of
God in their lives to the ministry of Christian education and posses a
knowledge and appreciation of the moral and spiritual needs of their
students.
School Classes
Classes are limited in number so as to allow the teacher the
opportunity to focus on individual student needs. Class hours
are from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm for Kindergarten through Sixth grades.

Crescent Avenue Christian School is a member of the Association of
Christian Schools International and the Nazarene International
Education Association. |
